Gingerbread Cake
Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp ground ginger
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground cloves
4 eggs whisked, room temp
1 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
1 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup milk
1/2 cup molasses
Preparation:
Preheat oven to 350º F and grease a cake pan (bundt pans work nicely here)
In a medium bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and spices. Set aside.
in a large bowl, whisk the eggs.
Add the brown sugar, melted butter, milk, and molasses until smooth.
Slowly incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet, stirring in between each addition. The batter tends to be a little lumpy but try to incorporate all the bigger lumps.
Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 45-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Allow the cake to cool for about 10 minutes and flip over.
